Christine

Christine has dysphasia. This is an acquired impairment of language processes caused by damage to the receptive and expressive language areas of the brain. These two areas are involved in:

A. Receptive Language Area
Understanding spoken and written word

B. Expressive Language Area
Expressing yourself through spoken and written form
(includes word selection, word order and grammar)

Dysphasia is not due to a difficulty moving the muscles to produce language, it is an impairment to the language area itself.
