Working with people with TBI

Staff self-study modules 1 - 9

The kit includes nine self-study modules for staff working with people with TBI.
The self-study modules can be completed on-line. Each module is designed to stand alone.
However Module 1 Introduction to Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is essential background knowledge to all the other modules.

The modules will be relevant for staff working with people with TBI, in particular:

  • Support workers
  • Managers and team leaders
  • Case managers.

The modules include background information, diagrams, brain storming ideas, case studies, videos, questions and answers. etc.

The modules are not lock-step. You can dip into and out of any part of any module.

Each module includes a self test. The self-test is a way of checking you have learnt the key concepts. It can also be a way of showing your organisation evidence that you have worked on the module.

You can complete the test and print out your answers. You can also print out suggested answers so that you can compare your answers with the suggested answers (and discuss them with your supervisor).

The nine self study modules are:

1 An Introduction to Traumatic Brain Injury

2: Communication

3: Promoting skills for independence

4: Understanding and managing cognitive changes following an TBI
